These 2022 marketing conferences will allow you to not only learn from the best in marketing, but also make new friends, discover a new tool for your job, and spend quality time with your boss and colleagues.
Is there ever a time in history when the marketing industry has experienced so much change in such a short period of time? The world has changed dramatically over the past two decades to adapt to global pandemics.
This includes consumer behavior, marketing trends and Web 3.0. All of these factors are affecting the way marketing teams work in today’s business environment.
Forbes says that attending marketing conferences and events throughout the year is a great way to stay on top of new trends and opportunities. It’s easier than ever to attend events that have digital components, which eliminate the need for you to travel.
Marketing conferences offer a great opportunity to network with peers and learn new ideas throughout the year.
This is why I have compiled this list of 2022’s best marketing conferences. This is a list of some my favorite marketing conferences that I recommend you look at. Nearly all of them have been my speaking engagements so I know firsthand the importance and quality of each event.

How do I identify the Best Marketing Conferences Every Year?
In the last 10 years, I have been to over 100 marketing events! Each year I choose the events that I know are the best, because I have been to them all and return every year.
I also try to find events that I haven’t been to or heard about, but which I think are really interesting (I’m talking to Lavacon! I also included a few of these events here. Since I haven’t been overseas for a while, I only included one non-US conference this year. (But please let me know if there are any marketing events that you think should not be missed outside of the US.
Your industry and specialties will determine which event is best for you. You should check them all to determine which one will be the best for you.
The quality and calibre of the keynote speakers is one of the best indicators that a marketing event is worth attending. Do they share their knowledge and not promote themselves? Or are they just random brand marketers who have never spoken before? Or are they professional, experienced speakers?
Anyone can have Oprah speak at any event, and Coldplay perform at any concert, provided they have the budget. We are looking for quality, not quantity. Brand-side speakers with no experience or big-name celebrities will not be invited to events.
The way it is promoted can tell you a lot about an event. These are some of the most successful marketers I have met. They are creative in keeping us interested.

MarTech

SMX Series
Dates: SMX Advanced, June 14,-15, 2022, and SMX Next, November 15-16th, 2022
SMX events, hosted by MarTech (Third Door Media), are all about search. SMX events will feature experts on how to drive traffic and convert visitors through SEO, PPC/SEM and analytics. Register for free this year!

B2B Marketing Exchange

World of Content Marketing

The Content Marketing World is the largest, four-day content conference in the world. It’s also one of the few marketing events that exclusively focuses on content marketing. The event features over 100 sessions, workshops and forums that are led by industry leaders. You’ll also make life-long friendships. The fun and learning don’t stop after the event.

CMI’s ContentTECH Summit will be held March 22-24 in San Diego. This summit will focus on content technology and strategy. This summit brings together thought leaders and practitioners in the areas of content tech innovation, strategy, and process.
Digital Summit

Locations: Virtual and in-person
Digital Summit events are held in over 20 cities throughout the country each year. The Digital Summit Series is a high-value and accessible marketing event due to its many formats and broad range of topics.
At a few of these summits in 2020, I was able to speak with some incredible, well-dressed digital marketing people. We are hoping to shed the worry and masks as we move into 2022.

MarketingProfs B2B Forum
Dates/location: In-person Fall 2022, April 6 & 7, 2022
This is an event that I have not missed in more than a decade. Why? B2B marketing is different from B2C marketing in that it has its own set trends, best practices and quirks. MarketingProfs organizes this event every year to address topics that are relevant to B2B brands.
Ann Handley hosts the MarketingProfs B2B forum. It covers proven strategies, actionable insight, and interactive huddles, making it an engaging two-day event. Even better? Even better? A ticket to the event comes with a year of PRO membership and access to many other resources.

LeadsCon
Dates: March 21-23 and 2022
Location: Las Vegas, Nevada
Although organic traffic is great, every brand needs leads and converts to make money. LeadsCon is a conference that focuses on performance marketing, the kind that converts. It features keynote talks, breakout sessions and exhibits as well as networking events. This is a great way to learn and make new connections in the industry.
Although the agenda for 2022 is still being developed, you can see last year’s speakers to get a sense of what you can expect from the event. I have spoken here before and was impressed by the speaker line-up and audience.
Brand ManageCamp

Forbes named it one of the “best conferences in marketing”
Len Herstein, founder of Brand ManageCamp, is excited to return to a live conference after two years of working virtually. Unless you live under a rock you will know that artificial intelligence has become a key component of any data-driven content strategy. MAICON, or the Marketing Artificial Intelligence Conference focuses on human marketers using AI-powered marketing technology to create better, more effective strategies that produce greater results. They will be covering how to make all software tools that marketers use, including email, search and ad buying automation, content strategy, marketing strategy, and many others, more efficient by leveraging AI.

MozCon

MozCon claims to be more than a marketing conference. We agree. It focuses on SEO and other aspects of search marketing. This is a crucial component of any marketing strategy and one that we are constantly changing.

Confab
Dates: May 9-12th, 2022
Minneapolis, MN
Confab, like Content Marketing World is one of few conferences that focuses exclusively on content marketing strategy. With a mix of keynote speakers, workshops and breakout sessions, the event is focused on education and collaboration. It also features networking events and social events. This event is a great opportunity to meet industry leaders, learn from them, and make new connections.

LavaCon
Dates: October 23-26 2022
New Orleans, LA
This is my new favorite little gem. It looks amazing, but I don’t know if I will be able to go. LavaCon began in Hawaii (get the idea?) Every year, it takes place in a different location.
This conference aims to assist marketing organizations in using content technologies. It is a timely topic in an age where technology is constantly changing. It’s focused on sharing best practices and building community, just like other events.
This year’s event focuses on one of the most difficult challenges in marketing: connecting content silos across the enterprise. Register before January 10, 2022 to receive a complimentary colleague!

Inbound

Location: Boston
Hubspot’s annual marketing event Inbound, which is hugely popular in the United States, will be back in 2022. Oprah Winfrey, Gary Vaynerchuk and Michelle Obama are some of the speakers. It is attended by thousands of people around the globe.
The event, as you would expect from Hubspot covers a wide range of topics for marketers (you may see the 2021 agenda right here to get an idea), and features meetup sessions to help attendees connect with their peers.

B2B Marketing IGNITE
Date: June 1-3
Chicago, IL
In 2021, I will be speaking (virtually), at the next two events organized by B2B Marketing. The “Ignite” event in the USA will be 2022 and it will focus heavily on B2B Brand.
Why? Why? Because brand is the number one weapon of an organization in the post-Covid, high churn recruitment market. B2B buying is evolving. Decision-makers now prefer to ‘buy into’ a company rather than ‘buy out’. Inclusion and diversity are now a key component of organizational design and employee training.
