On-page SEO refers to a technique that is applied on-page or off-site to increase the page’s search engine rank. This includes maintaining keyword density, writing quality content, optimizing URLs, and other optimizations.
Off-page SEO is the outside measures you take to increase your website’s ranking in search engines. This is basically external promotion of your website using techniques such as guest posting, building backlinks and influencer outreach.
2. How did you acquire the SEO skill?
In my previous jobs, I was able to help with SEO-focused campaigns and have learned many practical aspects of SEO. Aside from that, I completed the ‘X’ course in SEO from (name the source), which provided me with deeper insight into search engine algorithms and helped me identify emerging SEO strategies.
3. Which SEO tools do your use?
There are many tools on the market, but I prefer Ahrefs and Semrush SEO Tool, Moz SEO Tool, Google Keyword Planner, Google Search Console.
4. How can you determine the success rate for SEO campaigns?
Analyzing the traffic to the page you want or measuring conversion rates after implementation of a campaign is the best way to determine the success of SEO campaigns.
5. What are your thoughts on the duties of an SEO manager
According to me, the SEO manager’s duties include:
- To improve search engine rankings of websites, lead and execute SEO projects
- Monitor, analyze, and report on the performance of campaigns/projects
- Optimize your landing page
- Develop and implement the content strategy
- Keyword research
6. What are your options for keyword research?
The correct answer to the question will differ from one person to another. You might mention one or more tools they use to determine the keyword. When researching keywords, it is important to mention the persona of your target audience.
You should also consider factors such as the keyword’s competitiveness and selecting keywords that aren’t too competitive but have high search volumes.
7. What are long-tail keywords and how do they work?
Long-tail keywords consist of three to four words. These keywords are targeted at a specific audience, or audience searching for a solution to a query. They are more likely to result in a sale.
8. How many keywords should you use on a website?
It’s sufficient to include at least two to three primary keywords and a few secondary keywords. However, it shouldn’t be forced into the content. The length of the webpage and content will also affect the number of keywords that should be included.
The standard practice is to keep the keyword density at 2-3 percent. If the keyword is too popular, it can go up to 3-4 percent.
9. What are the most common SEO errors?
Among the most common SEO errors I have seen are:
- Not creating unique content
- Keywords are a great way to overstuff the content
- Backlinks of poor quality
10. Are you a victim of a link penalty? What have you done to correct it?
Yes, Google placed a manual penalty on one of our resource blogs. This blog was one our most popular, and we discovered that many spam websites had used our backlinks.
This was most likely a result of a negative SEO campaign. After five weeks, Google reviewed our page and we sent a request for corrections.
11. What does Black Hat SEO mean?
Black Hat SEO techniques include link scheme, hidden content, duplicate content, link scheme and cloaking. These methods are illegal and could result in a website being removed from search engines.

Cross-linking refers to linking web pages from one another. Cross-linking can also include linking pages from the same website. It is intended to generate quality traffic and link relevant content.
Cross-linking can be described as linking stats in an article to the original source for research. This avoids plagiarism concerns, and increases the credibility of your content.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is an organic method to drive traffic to your site. Search Engine Marketing (SEM), on the other hand is a paid promotion of your website via search engines, including pay per click advertising.

14. What does image Alt text mean?
Alt text is a description of the image in words. Google cannot understand the image. Google can only understand written words. Alt text is what Google uses to help it understand the image and optimize it.
15. What is URL optimization?
A URL can be optimized in the same way as a website page. This is known as URL optimization. Optimizing a URL involves using keywords and keeping it simple and understandable.
16. How do I see index pages?
Google Search Console allows you to view the index pages. You can also view them by performing an advanced search on Google.
17. What does keyword stemming mean and how important is it?
Keyword stemming refers to the practice of adding a suffix or prefix to a keyword. This allows us to add more relevant keywords and phrases to our content without being too obvious. If the keyword is “interest”, then writing “interesting” would be keyword stemming.
18. What can Google fetch?
Google Search Console offers Fetch, a tool that allows us to check if Googlebot can access URLs on our website and what it thinks about them.
19. Have you ever seen a Google Knowledge graph?
Google knowledge graph is Google’s internal database that contains all information available through the search engine. It uses the graph to give the most relevant information to search queries. Google Knowledge Graph Panel is visible to everyone, even though it is hidden from the public. The panel is the information box provided by Google at the top-right of search engine results.
20. How can you neutralize a harmful link on your website
A backlink quality tool can help you eliminate toxic links. This tool can help you identify the harmful link. The tool will then identify the toxic link.
21. What is an SEO audit? Why do we need one?
An SEO audit is the process of evaluating factors that affect the website’s rank in search engines. This includes analysing the on-page and off-page SEO as well as technical aspects of SEO. SEO audits can improve website health and user experience.
22. What is a link audit? How often should it be performed?
Link audit involves analyzing all links to your website or backlinks. This helps to ensure that external links are high quality and aids in SEO. Before they begin building backlinks, many SEO professionals audit links. Link audits can be tedious so I recommend that a complete audit of all links should be performed once a year.
23. What does a conical matter mean?
Conical issues occur when website URLs are similar to existing URLs. A conical issue can be caused by URLxyz.com or xyzURL.com.
24. What have been the most recent updates from Google regarding SEO?
Google Core Web Vitals, a 2021 update to its search algorithm, is the most recent update that has significantly affected SEO. This update measures the user experience quality to determine search engine performance, and ranking.
25. What are rich snippets, you ask?
Rich snippets provide a preview of the content and are textual descriptions that appear above organic search results. Sometimes, it includes images. Rich snippets can be generated using Google Search Console. Although it is not SEO-related, rich snippets can be used to drive traffic to the content.
26. What is crawling? And how can we increase its frequency using a search engine?
A search engine bot called “Crawler” reads your website and ranks it accordingly in Google searches. This is known as crawling. You can increase the frequency of crawling by updating your website content regularly.
27. If your website isn’t ranked higher in search engines, even if you tried every SEO technique, what can you do?
First, I’d recheck your keywords and add more keywords to the content. You can try different titles and meta description. Google’s advanced search would be a great tool to help you understand the strategies of your competitors and determine how my links are performing. When searching for reasons for poor performance, one thing that is often overlooked is the need to check the page for any penalties.
28. What is content marketing?
For SEO success, content marketing is crucial. High quality content that is optimized with keywords and internal/external links greatly helps in reaching the masses. You can market content in many formats, including text, video, emails, podcasts, and emails.

Yes, social media posts can be a great way of driving traffic and engagement to your website.
30. What can SEO and PPC do together to help you achieve better results?
SEO and PPC can be combined to produce better results and higher rankings. PPC ads are paid promotions that allow them to appear at the top search results page.

31. Explain Domain Authority.
Domain Authority is a score that measures the success of your websites in Google search rankings. It can range from 1-100. Higher scores indicate better results.

Hummingbird was an update to the Google algorithm. It saw a shift from keyword-based searches to the intent behind search results, which allowed for the ranking of web pages.
33. How do you optimize a website with millions of pages?
Optimizing a website with a robust backend architecture is a prerequisite. An advanced SEO tool that has strong analytical capabilities is also required. SEO plugins can be used to analyze the pages. After a preliminary analysis report has been completed, we can optimize the pages by:
- Duplicate content removed
- Important keywords should be included in the headers and META tags
- Create a strong internal linking structure
34. What are some SEO factors you cannot control?
Google is the most important factor that affects SEO and is beyond our control. Google has not yet made public its algorithm design. SEO professionals have learned best practices by trial and error.
Google doesn’t rank a new website higher. Optimizing a webpage can be difficult. To develop the best SEO strategy, you need a team of experts.

Before ranking websites in search results, Google evaluates their user experience. Customers will be able to access pages faster and have less time to read them. This results in a better user experience, which leads to better search engine rankings. Websites need to be fast.

Each project is different and SEO strategies are not the same. However, the basic steps of creating SEO strategies vary from project to project. I begin by understanding the target audience, and then define the long- and short-term goals. Next comes competitor analysis, keyword research and content planning. The final step is to decide the implementation timeline after completing these steps.
